This bag is an example of one of the most intricate forms of suzani embroidery.  The work is called Shakhrisabz, from the city in southern Uzbekistan where it developed in the 17th century.  This artisan’s workshop is renowned for her exquisite use of color.  Lined with ikat fabric, another specialty of the area, and finished with glass beaded tassels, each bag exudes a vibrant spirit!
